HC Deb 13 July 1900 vol 85 cc1459-60
MR. WARNER

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War how far the War Department has been successful in providing officers for the Royal Reserve battalions and cavalry regiments, and what is now the average number of officers per 1,000 men in the Royal Reserves.

*MR. WYNDHAM

The number of officers is still insufficient. The proportion at present is twenty-four per thousand men in the cavalry and fourteen in the infantry.
