HC Deb 13 July 1900 vol 85 c1460
MR. WARNER

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War if the draft order issued by the War Office early this week, inviting Volunteers to undertake the liability of being called out for actual military service or service abroad, can be carried out before the Bill to amend the Volunteer Act now down for Second Reading has been passed and received the Royal Assent; and if the action of the War Office in issuing this order is sanctioned by the Secretary of State for War.

*MR. WYNDHAM

No, Sir; the Paper referred to was laid in order to give hon. Members an opportunity of judging the scope of the Government proposals before they come up for discussion.
