HC Deb 17 February 1893 vol 8 cc1699-700
MR. M'GILLIGAN (Fermanagh, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the ratepayers within the area of taxation for the maintenance, &c., of the Clogher Valley Tramway, County Fermanagh, pay a levy of 7d. or 8d. in the £1 for the purposes of the tramway; and whether, in view of the strong opposition of the ratepayers to the construction of the line, he will advise the Treasury to come to their relief?

*SIR J. T. HIBBERT

The facts are as stated in the first paragraph of the question. After making inquiry into the circumstances of the case, I am afraid I can hold out no hope of any further relief being afforded by the Treasury.
