§ Mr. Ian Wrigglesworth (Stockton, South)It gives me great pleasure to present a petition signed by Mr. Brian Scrafton of 25 Fairfield Road, Stockton-on-Tees, and 1,800 of my constituents who wish to petition the House against Cleveland county council's proposals to close the Grange and Sheraton schools and to operate a new one on those two sites.
The number of signatures and the speed with which they were collected by the chairman and members of the committee of the parent-teacher association demonstrate the strength of feeling about the proposed merger. The association has put forward alternative proposals which I hope that the House and the Government will view considerably. It gives me great pleasure to present this petition on behalf of my constituents.
