§ Mr. Sydney Chapman (Chipping Barnet)I have the honour to present a petition signed by Mr. Brian Doyle, editor, and 200 readers of the magazine Cats and other animal lovers who are drawing the House's attention to the increasing misuse of air weapons and other lethal weapons which cause the injury, maiming or killing of many cats and other domestic pets. They respectfully urge the House to amend the law and regulations governing the sale, possession and use of air guns, air rifles, crossbows and other lethal weapons by restricting their ownership and use to a much greater extent than at present.
The petition is based on a more informal one which was signed by another 5,000 readers of the magazine.
