§ 3. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many complaints he has received about meals in schools under his authority; what is the nature of such complaints; and what steps he has taken and plans to take to satisfy the complaints.
§ Mr. RossI have had no complaints, but if my hon. and learned Friend has a particular point in mind I should be glad to look into it.
§ Mr. HughesI thank the Secretary of of State for promising to look into it, and I shall send him the complaints which I have received. Does he agree that, in order to enable children in the schools under his authority to get the best out of their education, there should be plans to enable them to co-ordinate mind and body scientifically and have physical training, even though they do not swim all the year round?
§ Mr. RossYes, Sir; but I thought that we were talking about school meals. I can assure my hon. and learned Friend that we have had no complaints, and this, surely, is an indication of a measure of satisfaction with the school meals service.
