asked the Minister of Transport whether he will now announce the new three-year classified roads programme.

Mr. Marples

This has now been notified to highway authorities. A list of the larger schemes included is being placed in the Library for the information of hon. Members.

Mr. du Cann

Will my right hon. Friend be good enough also to publish this information in the OFFICIAL REPORT? Will he also say whether this represents an increase upon previous years, and will he tell us how the West Country fares in this matter, and whether we have had an increase, as we very much hope?

Mr. Marples

The West Country, as always, has been treated very generously. The maximum publicity will be given to this particular effort on the part of the Government.
