§ 24. Mr. Moyleasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what progress he has made in his consultations with local authorities on street lighting.
§ Mr. NugentFollowing a conference of lighting authorities in the London area which I held last May, a Consultative Committee for London has been formed, representing 103 authorities. I understand they have already held two meetings, and I hope for good results from their work.
§ Mr. MoyleMay I ask the Joint Parliamentary Secretary what progress has been made in the direction of the West Midlands conurbation in relation to the authorities there?
§ Mr. NugentI have no reports of further developments in the provinces. We are just about to send out an inquiry to local authorities as the basis of a survey. When we have completed that survey, it may give the stimulus to similar action in the provinces. I certainly hope so.
