HC Deb 03 December 1958 vol 596 cc1166-7
13. Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Minister of Labour how many conventions and recommendations have been made at the 'International Labour Conference since 1950; and how many have been applied or ratified during the same period by Her Majesty's Government.

Mr. Wood

Since 1950, the International Labour Conference has adopted 13 conventions and 24 recommendations. During the same period the United Kingdom has ratified 17 conventions and has accepted 15 recommendation, including four conventions and 11 recommendations among those adopted since 1950. The action to be taken by the United Kingdom on the conventions and recommendations adopted at sessions of the Conference held earlier this year is under consideration.

Mr. Smith

I have just thought about my previous supplementary question on Question No. 12. I would explain that I intended no reflection whatever on the Parliamentary Secretary.
