§ 12. Mr. Ellis Smithasked the Minister of Labour to what extent the pre-war arrangements have been restored for trade unionists who register for employment at the employment exchanges.
§ Mr. WoodThe pre-war arrangements for co-operation between employment exchanges and trade union branches in placing their members in employment have continued unchanged.
§ Mr. WoodIt applies to the kind of facilities where if a local office has no suitable man or woman registered for a particular job then the branch secretary of he appropriate trade union would be asked to submit a name; and, of course, the co-operation works in the reverse direction as well.
§ Mr. SmithIn the circumstances, though I do not want to press this too hard at this stage, will the Parliamentary Secretary give me an undertaking that he will consult his right hon. Friend with a view to consulting the National Advisory Committee on this matter?
§ Staff at the employment exchanges to deal with them?
