HC Deb 12 February 1957 vol 564 c1052
9. Mr. Bence

asked the Secretary of State for War what steps he is taking either to dispose of land which fronts Dumgoyne, Bearsden, or to accept liability for necessary road repairs as other owners of property have to do.

Mr. J. Amery

I am now satisfied that a contribution towards the cost of road repairs is justified. This will be paid.

Mr. Bence

I thank the hon. Gentleman very much for at last conceding what was a very important point to the people concerned. They felt that the War Office should undertake the same obligations as private citizens.

Mr. Nabarro

A Tory Minister—that is the answer.
