HC Deb 12 February 1957 vol 564 c1052
8. Mr. E. Fletcher

asked the Secretary of State for War what complaints he has received about the feeding of our troops in Cyprus.

The Secretary of State for War (Mr. John Hare)

Including the recent one by the hon. Member, there have been five complaints about feeding in Cyprus during the last twelve months, all relating to the difficult period after the Suez operation began.

Mr. Fletcher

May we take it that those complaints have now been satisfactorily dealt with?

Mr. Hare

Yes, Sir, they have, and I can assure the hon. Gentleman that I saw a lot of cookhouses myself when I was in Cyprus recently.
