HC Deb 02 July 1956 vol 555 cc981-2
32. Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Minister of Health what additional hospital accommodation is being provided for the treatment of chronic bronchitic patients.

Mr. Turton

The possibility of allocating exclusively for this purpose some hospital beds formerly used for tuberculosis is being considered by all regional boards, but no figures are yet available.

Mr. Blenkinsop

Will the right hon. Gentleman say when he expects to be able to have any figures? I think he will recognise the importance of getting this programme forward before the autumn and particularly the winter.

Mr. Turton

I will try to get some figures, perhaps in the early autumn. If the hon. Gentleman will put down a Question, I will try to deal with it then.
