HC Deb 27 October 1955 vol 545 cc349-50
8. Wing Commander Bullus

asked the Minister of Education if he has now closed the three comprehensive schools on the Manchester Corporation's Wythenshawe Estate, which opened after he had rejected the local education committee's plan.

Sir D. Eccles

After I had rejected its proposals, the Manchester authority discussed the whole question with me and subsequently decided to provide a modern school, two technical schools and a grammar school at Wythenshawe, in accordance with its earlier plans. The arrangements made for the current term were planned so that they could be readily changed.
