HC Deb 16 November 1955 vol 546 cc396-7
27. Mr. Watkins

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that applicants for driving tests in the Abergavenny district have been informed that they have to wait a period of four months before having a test; and what arrangements there are for tests to be undertaken when examiners are not available due to illness.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

The normal waiting period for a test at the Abergavenny centre at the present time is seven to eight weeks. To alleviate the difficulties arising from the illness of the examiner I am arranging for an additional examiner to be available there from the end of this month.
