HC Deb 27 October 1953 vol 518 c2595
16. Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Minister of Labour if he will make a further statement about the industrial dispute at the Medical Supply Association, Park Royal.

Sir W. Monckton

As I have already informed the hon. Member, this dispute was fully discussed at a meeting on 12th August between the firm and representatives of the trade unions concerned under the chairmanship of an officer of my Department. No mutually acceptable basis for a settlement emerged and since then no further opportunity has presented itself for conciliation. The assistance of my Department is still, of course, available to the parties. The complaint that the firm is not complying with the fair wages clause of Government contracts is at present before the Industrial Court.
