16. Mr. Hobson

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what gift Her Majesty's Government are giving to the Kenya Legislative Council on the occasion of the opening of the new Legislative Council building in Nairobi early in the new year.

Mr. Lyttelton

There was a proposal that a Speaker's Chair should be presented: but one had already been ordered by the Kenya Government. The House may, however, like to know that the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association delegation to the opening of the new Legislative Council building are taking with them a specially bound copy of Erskine May for presentation to the Clerk of the Council: and that the foundation stone of the new building came from the Palace of Westminster.

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the House will be very pleased to have this information, belated though it may be?

Will the right hon. Gentleman see that in this copy of Erskine May there is a special bookmark at the place which deals with the interruption of business at ten o'clock at night?
