§ Mr. Isaacs by Private Notice
§ The Minister of Labour and National Service (Sir Walter Monckton)I have had further talks with representatives of the British Transport Commission and of the unions involved, and joint discussions are today taking place between representatives of the Transport Commission and the unions. These talks will continue this afternoon, and, in the circumstances, I hope that the House will once again excuse me from making any further statement at present.
§ Mr. IsaacsAgain, I think the House will respond to the right hon. Gentleman's request, because patience and sympathy are being shown in this matter, but I am bound to tell the Minister that, if there is no adjustment by tomorrow, we shall have to put supplementary questions.
§ Sir W. MoncktonI am very much obliged to the right hon. Gentleman and to the House for having patience, which I hope I am myself trying to exercise in order to bring peace to all men of good will at this time.
