HC Deb 13 November 1951 vol 493 cc803-4
31. Mr. Donnelly

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what steps he is taking to notify local housing authorities in Pembrokeshire of their new housing allocations.

Mr. H. Macmillan

The authorities in question were notified in October of their initial housing allocations for 1952.

Mr. Donnelly

Does not the right hon. Gentleman propose to make any further additional allocation in view of the election promises which his party made?

Mr. Macmillan

The hon. Gentleman will observe that I used the words "their initial allocations."

Mr. Donnelly

Can the right hon. Gentleman say if there will be a further allocation?

Mr. Macmillan

I repeat that the hon. Member should observe my reply and draw his own deduction.

Mr. A. C. Manuel

Can the right hon. Gentleman indicate the period which he anticipates that the initial allocations are to cover?

Mr. Macmillan

They are made from time to time in accordance with the progress made by the authority concerned.

32. Mr. Donnelly

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is satisfied that there is sufficient scaffolding available in Pembrokeshire for the new housing programme.

Mr. H. Macmillan

I have no reason to suppose that there will not be sufficient scaffolding available for the Pembroke shire housing programme.

Mr. Donnelly

Will the right hon. Gentleman give an assurance that if further scaffolding is found to be necessary as a result of his new allocations he will make it available?

Mr. Macmillan

As long as it is not put up outside my office, I shall be happy to do so.
