§ 30. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what controls on building it is his intention to introduce or lift to make possible the early production of 300,000 houses per year.
§ 41 and 42. Mr. Norman Doddsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) what steps he is taking to increase the housing programme; what are the prospects for 1952; and how long he estimates it will take to reach a programme of 300,000 houses;
(2) how many additional houses he estimates can be built by the present labour force; what action he is taking to ensure that the necessary additional skilled and unskilled labour is available for 300,000 houses a year; and what is the estimated additional labour required.
§ 100 and 101. Mr. Cyril W. Blackasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) whether he will give his consent in suitable cases in which local authorities wish to sell council houses to the occupiers;
(2) whether he will allow local authorities to grant a larger number of licences to families wishing to build their own homes.
