§ 74. Sir H. Williamsasked the Minister of Local Government and Planning what instructions or advice he is giving to planning committees and their officials to prevent the indiscriminate challenge of advertisements; and to secure continuity of non-offending advertisements after 31st July, 1951.
§ Mr. LindgrenMy right hon. Friend is in consultation with the local authority associations and with the advisory committee of the outdoor advertising industry on this subject.
§ 75. Sir H. Williamsasked the Minister of Local Government and Planning in how many cases he has decided appeals from refusal for advertisement on grounds of public safety when the local authority has refused permission on grounds of amenity and vice versa; and, in view of the fact that in such a case the appellant has not been heard on the issue on which he has lost the appeal, what opportunity is afforded to him thereafter to be heard.
§ Mr. LindgrenThere have been very few such cases. Appeals are settled on the facts of each case, and the full facts are obtained whatever the ground on which the local authority based their decision.
