HC Deb 29 May 1951 vol 488 cc36-7
77. Mr. John Arbuthnot

asked the Minister of National Insurance whether she has any proposals for increasing pensions for those industrially disabled so badly as to be incapable of benefiting from the Budget proposals to allow old people to earn more without losing their Old Age Pension.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of National Insurance (Mr. Bernard Taylor)

My right hon. Friend does not think any special provision is necessary in the type of case the hon. Member has in mind as the pensioner will already be in receipt of workmen's compensation or allowances under the Industrial Injuries Act to compensate him for his disability.
