HC Deb 06 December 1951 vol 494 cc2543-4
31. Mr. George Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware of the inconvenience caused to electors in Cardiff by the refusal of the Cardiff City Corporation to grant adequate polling booths in the recent General Election; and whether he will hold an inquiry into the action of the corporation.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

I have no power to take the action suggested by the hon. Member. If, however, 30 or more electors in the constituency concerned submit a representation to me in pursuance of Section 11 of the Representation of the People Act, 1949, I shall of course give consideration to it.
