asked the Postmaster-General what number of applicants are waiting for telephone facilities in Carlisle.

Six hundred and eighty-two, including 88 for whom the work of provision is nearing completion. The work of installing 960 additional equipments will start next month.

Can my right hon Friend say whether some of these applications will take three years to complete.
