HC Deb 10 May 1950 vol 475 c364
24. Mr. James Johnson

asked the Postmaster-General the number of farmers in the rural district of Rugby who have had telephones installed since 1945; and how many are still on the waiting list.

Mr. Ness Edwards

Fifty-one have been connected since 1st January, 1946, and there are 41 now on the waiting list.

Mr. Johnson

Is my right hon. Friend aware that this is an urgent matter, and will he give it high priority in view of the need for increased food production?

Mr. Ness Edwards

I have many competing demands, and I try to do my best.

Captain Waterhouse

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there are demands for telephones all over the country and that nothing is being done?

Mr. Speaker

This Question is about Rugby, and not the rest of the country.
