HC Deb 29 March 1950 vol 473 c386
32. Mr. Higgs

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that since the re-allocation of broadcasting wavelengths his Department has ceased to provide weather broadcasts from their air meteorological stations; and, in view of the fact that this service was of considerable value to farmers and others, what steps he proposes to take to reinstate the service in the near future.

Mr. A. Henderson

This meteorological broadcast service was introduced and primarily used for civil aviation purposes. I am, however, aware that it was useful to other interests besides civil aviation and discussions are now taking place to determine whether alternative provision can be made for them.
