§ 41. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has studied the recommendations sent to him by the recent Cultural Congress held by the European Movement at Lausanne; and what action he is taking to implement them.
§ The Minister of State (Mr. Younger)Yes, Sir. The majority of these recommendations deal with co-operation in the cultural and educational spheres between European countries and I am glad to say that this is already being actively pursued by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation and the Permanent Commission of the Brussels Treaty Powers.
§ Mr. YoungerMost of the recommendations, which are very numerous, are, I think, already being covered by discussion in the various bodies to which I have referred and we must leave them in their hands at the moment.
