asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps have been taken to publicise in Burma the extent of British financial aid to that country since the end of the war.

Mr. Younger

The figures have from time to time been made available to the Press of Burma through the Information Department of His Majesty's Embassy at Rangoon. The attention of His Majesty's Embassy was called to the desirability of keeping these figures before the Burmese public as recently as 17th March, 1950.

Has the cumulative total been given publicity similar to that given to the interim figures?

Mr. Younger

I think the hon. Member will find that the total given in a recent answer by my right hon. Friend has been given that same publicity.
