HC Deb 12 December 1950 vol 482 cc959-60
13. Mr. Clunie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the total number of students who are enrolled in Scotland for further education during the present winter session, and the numbers who were enrolled last session and the previous session respectively.

Miss Herbison

The numbers of students in further education classes during the last two sessions were approximately 274,000 and 300,000 respectively. I regret that figures for the current session are not yet available.

Mr. Rankin

Could my hon. Friend say within those gross figures how many students were enrolled for continuous periods of study and how many continued in those courses from one year to another?

Miss Herbison

I am afraid that that raises questions other than those on the Order Paper.
