HC Deb 25 April 1950 vol 474 c764
23. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposals he is considering for the dispersal of the population of the towns in Scotland in the event of an atomic bomb attack.

Mr. McNeil

The Government's proposals for dispersal of population in Scotland in the event of war are contained in a memorandum issued last week and entitled "Short-Term Plan for Evacuation." I am sending the hon. Member a copy.

Sir H. Williams

Does the right hon. Gentleman think that even an H-bomb would disperse a swarm of Covenanters?
