§ 3. Mr. Turtonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what change has been made since 30th March, 1949, in the system of controls on the commercial export of goods from Nigeria; and from what date these changes operated.
Mr. Creech JonesThe only change is that the export from Nigeria of locally grown foodstuffs and of locally woven cloth containing imported yarn has been permitted from 1st April, 1949.
§ Mr. TurtonDoes the Minister remember that the Parliamentary Secretary gave an undertaking in the House on 30th March that he would get information about these controls and report on them? Is he aware that no information has been given, and that a review of the controls did not take place until the first Question about them was put down? Will he look into the matter?
