asked the Minister of Health the number of houses in Hull which were accepted as total loss by war damage; the number of new houses completed; the number now under construction and approved, respectively; and the probable number to be approved for the second half of 1948.

The number of houses in Hull destroyed or damaged beyond repair by enemy action is approximately 5,500. As regards the second and third parts of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to Appendix B to the Housing Return. As regards the last part of the Question, the local authority have been authorised to go to tender for a further 267 houses.
