HC Deb 26 January 1948 vol 446 c662
66. Mr. Vane

asked the Minister of Agriculture for what reason the grants payable in respect of land drainage schemes carried out in England are less generous than grants in respect of similar schemes in Scotland.

Mr. T. Williams

The arrangements for grant-aiding land drainage schemes in Scotland differ in many ways from those applicable to England and Wales, and it is not possible to make a comparison within the limits of an oral answer. Perhaps the hon. Member will write to me on any particular point he has in mind.
