HC Deb 26 January 1948 vol 446 cc662-3
69. Mr. Turton

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that the shortage of Ransome type and Cockshutt type ploughshares has persisted in the North Riding of Yorkshire continuously since the autumn; and if he will take steps to secure a more even distribution of the increased supplies.

Mr. T. Williams

Production of ploughshares is increasing steadily and the manufacturers have assured me that available supplies are distributed as evenly as possible. Special steps are being taken to meet certain shortages recently reported from the North Riding.

Mr. Turton

Can the Minister say, if there are, in fact, increased supplies of spare parts, and where these increased supplies have gone to?

Mr. Williams

I understand that Messrs. Yates, of Malton, have recently been receiving some supplies.
