HC Deb 17 November 1947 vol 444 c805
56. Mr. Vane

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware of the hardship to hill farmers with little or no arable land, resulting from the regulation by which the entitlement to poultry rations is greatly reduced or even extinguished by a calculation known as an acreage reduction; and whether he will amend the regulation so that it operates less unfairly.

Mr. T. Williams

The acreage deduction is not made in respect of rough grazings, and it has in any case been considerably reduced this winter. I am afraid supplies of feedingstuffs are not yet sufficient to allow of any further alterations.
