§ 16. Mr. Butcherasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been drawn to the high prices charged by N.A.A.F.I. to married families in Germany; how far he exercises control over these prices; and whether he proposes to make any cash allowance to assist married families who are compelled to deal with this institution.
§ Mr. BevinI am aware that there have been complaints from married families that some prices are high compared with prices in England, but I do not propose to deal with this matter by means of a cash allowance. The control of N.A.A.F.I. prices are a matter for my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for War.
§ Mr. ButcherIn view of the complaint which the right hon. Gentleman has received, will he urge upon his right hon. Friend the necessity for using the 364 utmost control over the operations of N.A.A.F.I.?
