HC Deb 19 May 1947 vol 437 c1996
42. Mr. Baker White

asked the Minister of Food what is the maximum retail price at which imported fresh carrots from the U.S.A. may be sold; and how this price compares with the maximum selling price of British-grown main-crop carrots.

Mr. Strachey

The price of new season's carrots, whether imported or home produced, is not controlled. The maximum retail price of home-grown maincrop carrots is 2d. per lb. in England and Wales.
