41. Mr. Baker White

asked the Minister of Food what quantities per month of fresh carrots, asparagus and celery are being imported from the U.S.A.; and how much expenditure in dollars was involved in such purchases in the period 1st January to 30th April, 1947.

During the first quarter of this year, the latest date for which figures are available, 3 cwts. of asparagus, but no celery or carrots, were imported from the United States of America. The value of the asparagus was about £10.
