Mr. Gammansasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in view of the fact that the Government are not at present prepared to fix rates of pay for women in the Civil Service equal to those granted to men, he is prepared to increase the maximum salary scale of women's appointments so that a woman can continue to draw increments until she ultimately reaches the same maximum as a man.
