§ 52. Mr. Butcherasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the observations made by the Select Committee on the House of Commons Members' Fund relating to the charges made by the Government actuary; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. DaltonYes, Sir. I do not regard these charges as excessive. Over the period covered by the accounts they amount to 0.6 per cent. of the total income. Less work should be involved on the second quinquennial valuation and the cost should, therefore, be less.
