Mr. Price-Whiteasked the Minister of Agriculture the number of persons appointed to posts in the recently established Agricultural Advisory Service and, of those, the number who are graded at a lower salary in that service than they were previously paid by agricultural depart- 279 ments of university colleges and other institutions by which they were employed, prior to their transfer to the Agricultural Advisory Service.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsThe number of appointments made up to date is 1,016. No officer who had statutory right of transfer as defined by Section 1 (2) of the Agriculture (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1944, has been appointed at a lower salary than he was receiving at the date of transfer.
