HC Deb 28 October 1946 vol 428 cc278-9
51. Mr. Price-White

asked the Minister of Agriculture the number of persons appointed to posts in the recently established Agricultural Advisory Service and, of those, the number who are graded at a lower salary in that service than they were previously paid by agricultural depart- ments of university colleges and other institutions by which they were employed, prior to their transfer to the Agricultural Advisory Service.

Mr. T. Williams

The number of appointments made up to date is 1,016. No officer who had statutory right of transfer as defined by Section 1 (2) of the Agriculture (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1944, has been appointed at a lower salary than he was receiving at the date of transfer.
