§ 53. Major Wiseasked the Minister of Agriculture if he is aware that Crown lands in the Walpole and Marshland districts of Norfolk have been let to Dutch and other firms for the purpose of bulb-growing; and why he approved of land which is highly suitable for food production and smallholdings being used in this way during the present agricultural emergency.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsNo Crown lands have been let to Dutch firms for the purpose of bulb growing. Two farms on which a limited area is under bulbs are let to a British firm. The cropping of land by Crown tenants is, of course, at present subject to control by my Department in the same way as other agricultural land.
