HC Deb 25 March 1946 vol 421 cc18-9
71. Mr. Touche asked

the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Production to what extent lawn tennis clubs are able to obtain permits for the purchase of wire netting; and to whom the application should be made.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works (Mr. Harold Wilson)

I have been asked to reply. As stated by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Production on r8th March, there is an overall shortage of supplies of wire netting, and it is not yet possible to release wire netting 16r use by lawn tennis clubs. I understand that alternative materials such as second-hand fishing net are sometimes available through ordinary trade channels.
