HC Deb 25 March 1946 vol 421 c24
56. Mr. W. Shepherd

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps he is taking to overcome the present shortage of forks for agricultural purposes.

Mr. T. Williams

I am informed that the limited supply of forks for agricultural, purposes is due to the shortage of skilled labour to make them. If the hon. Member will furnish me with particulars of any special local shortage I will take the matter up with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Supply.

Mr. Shepherd

Is the Minister aware that manufacturers say they are compelled to send large quantities to the U.N.R.R.A. organisation, and will he see that British agriculture gets fair play?

Mr. Williams

If the hon. Gentleman will bring to my notice any case of a local shortage, I will do my best to see that the need is met.
