HC Deb 14 March 1946 vol 420 cc1252-3
3. Major Digby

asked the Minister of National Insurance what decisions were reached at the meeting of the Dental Benefit Council regarding the application for a revision of the scale of fees prescribed by the Dental Benefit Regulations and the resumption of regular meetings of the Council.

Mr. J. Griffiths

The Dental Benefit Council at its meeting on 14th February set up a sub-committee to review the prescribed scale of fees in the light of conditions now affecting the work of dentists and to make recommendations to the Council. It was also decided to bring to an end the wartime arrangements under which much of the work of the Council and its committees has been delegated to an emergency committee.

Major Digby

Could the Minister say whether we are yet any nearer a resolution of the unfortunate dispute with some of the dentists on this question?

Mr. Griffiths

Yes, Sir, I very much hope so. The work of this sub-committee is to bring forward as quickly as it can recommendations as to what should be the new scale.
