26. Mr. Keeling

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power what quantities of petroleum products were imported from the dollar and sterling areas, respectively, during the most recent period of 12 months for which figures are available.

Mr. Shinwell

During the first eight months of 1945 the combined oil resources of this country and of the U.S.A. were pooled. For this and other reasons a precise division into dollar and sterling sources is not practicable.

Mr. Keeling

Does the Minister hope to reduce the dollar proportion?

Mr. Shinwell

That is not entirely in my hands.
