HC Deb 08 April 1946 vol 421 c1619
9. Mr. Skeffington

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is now in a position to state what steps his Department has taken to promote the efficiency of the British X-Ray industry; and whether he is satisfied that it is capable of meeting, adequately, home and export requirements.

Mr. Wilmot

I have set up a committee to consult with the manufacturers as to the measures necessary for the further development of the British X-Ray industry, to enable it to meet the needs of this country and to play an increasing part in the export trade.

Wing-Commander Millington

Will the right hon. Gentleman answer the second part of the Question? Is he satisfied he can at this moment meet home and export requirements?

Mr. Wilmot

No, Sir, not at this moment. We have to improve the position.
