asked the Minister of Agriculture the number of men and women, respectively, employed in agriculture on 1st March, 1946, as compared with 1st March, 1939.

I regret that information is not available for March, 1946, and was not collected for March, 1939, but I am circulating in the OFFICIAL REPORT a statement giving the latest figures, which relate to December, 1945, with corresponding particulars for June, 1945, and June, 1939.

In view of what is going to happen later today, could we have those figures so that the House could know them?

The number of male employees, regular and casual, in June, 1939, was 534,100. In June, 1945, the number of male employees, permanent arid casual, including 83,000 prisoners of
