asked the Under- Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs what approximate acreage in Newfound land was cultivated and under rough grazing* in 1934 when the Commission Government took over; and what were the acreage figures on 1st January, 1945.

In 1934 when the Commission of Government took over there were 71,700 acres for arable crops and 31,700 for permanent pasture. On 1st of January last the figures were 84,700 and 30,900 acres respectively.
