HC Deb 31 January 1945 vol 407 cc1454-5
55. Mr. Rostron Duckworth

asked the Minister of Food the reasons for the decrease in sweet stocks.

Colonel Llewellin

There has been no decrease in aggregate sweet stocks. If my hon. Friend has any particular instance in mind and will send me particulars I will be glad to have the case investigated.

Mr. Duckworth

In view of the acknowledged fruit content of this product, can the right hon. and gallant Gentleman hold out any hope of a larger supply of raw materials in the near future?

Colonel Llewellin

No, Sir, not in the near future, I am afraid.
